Product Description:
The Steinel Hallway Presence Detector DALI-2 IPD is specifically designed to offer precise detection and control in long hallways and corridors. Featuring a 360° detection angle and a radial reach of up to 25 metres, the detector is optimised for narrow spaces, providing reliable presence detection and motion tracking. The sensor is capable of detecting through glass, wood, and stud walls, making it a versatile option for complex indoor environments.
This presence detector integrates seamlessly with DALI-2 systems, enabling advanced control over lighting and energy use through DALI-2 APC and IPD interfaces. The concealed installation ensures that the detector is unobtrusive while maintaining high performance in monitoring and controlling lighting. With features such as Bluetooth connectivity and master/slave interconnection, the device offers flexible configuration and management.

With the introduction of DALI-2, the undisputed lighting control protocol remains DALI. As the acronym suggests "Digital Addressable Lighting Interface" is limited to the lighting domain, however a number of suppliers are blurring the lines attempting to do more.
Building protocols like KNX and BACNet have gateways to DALI.
Backwards DALI compatible, controllers can manage both earlier DALI devices as well as the latest colour tuneable DT8 lights. With a full lighting ecosystem of products, it's sometimes simpler and easier to constrain a solution to DALI alone.
The DALI-2 standard mandates multi-vendor interoperability. Be careful and ask, as some vendors claim DALI-2, yet are still proprietary as they cannot interoperate with other vendors' DALI-2 components.
