Product Description:

The Steinel IR Quattro HD DALI-2 IPD Presence Detector offers superior infrared detection technology, providing precise monitoring for large indoor spaces such as classrooms, open-plan offices, and high-bay warehouses. With its 4800 switching zones, the detector covers a presence detection area of 8 x 8 metres and a movement detection range of 20 x 20 metres, making it ideal for high-traffic areas where accurate detection is essential.

This sensor integrates seamlessly with DALI-2 systems, allowing it to communicate sensor data to higher-level lighting management platforms such as LiveLink. The IR Quattro HD features a master/slave interconnection, supporting flexible configurations in larger installations. The concealed in-ceiling installation ensures it remains unobtrusive while providing high-performance detection.

With the introduction of DALI-2, the undisputed lighting control protocol remains DALI. As the acronym suggests "Digital Addressable Lighting Interface" is limited to the lighting domain, however a number of suppliers are blurring the lines attempting to do more.

Building protocols like KNX and BACNet have gateways to DALI.

Backwards DALI compatible, controllers can manage both earlier DALI devices as well as the latest colour tuneable DT8 lights. With a full lighting ecosystem of products, it's sometimes simpler and easier to constrain a solution to DALI alone.

The DALI-2 standard mandates multi-vendor interoperability. Be careful and ask, as some vendors claim DALI-2, yet are still proprietary as they cannot interoperate with other vendors' DALI-2 components.
